The bears aren’t the only creatures around here with a vested interest in the salmon. The eagles gather each fall to hunt Kokanee. Our gathering isn’t as large as some but last year in one afternoon I counted 84 along the river!
So I would be remiss if I didn’t show some of these regal birds.
When they rub against a log, I believe they are trying to wipe off a bit of fish from their beaks. If you look closely you can see it in some of the shots.
And the immature eagles are no slouch when it comes to cruising and hunting…
