During the spawning season, as I have mentioned, the eagles spend their time eating and watching for more food. This fall, along with all the bears, they were later arriving. But once here, the show was on. Generally, they are very vigilant and move away quickly from any human presence. But at this time, they are sometimes concentrating too hard and lower their guard.
This log always seemed to have an eagle on it. Not certain it was the same one, but when travelling along the river there were always eagles in the same trees, same branches, or the same downed tree or log. It was almost as if they had booked their favourite spots. While eating and watching this one demonstrated that they are not graceful on the ground.
Sometimes they seem to have an assembly line going, eating one fish with another ready on the log.
