New Year’s Eve – the count has ended – Happy New Year!!!

Out with the old and in with the new. Not the way I look at New Year’s Eve. It’s a celebration of the old and an anticipation of the new! So that was what my theme was when I looked through hundreds of photographs today to see what shots were particularly celebrated in 2014. Seemed like an easy approach….but, I have to admit, unless there is something technically or aesthetically wrong with a photo I love them all and celebrate being able to take each and every one. Sigh..

However, there were a few that were particularly satisfying. Images that I had either tried to capture before and failed, usually technical difficulties. Or ones that I had dreamt of capturing someday. Some in this category I have shown you over the year as they came off my camera.

One of these two is from a series I haven’t shown you. This is amazing because I have never managed to capture three herons in the same frame. This was one of those that I took, watching two subjects and only saw the third when I downloaded it…

3herons

Almost missed the little one in front completely! Ill show some more from this day after the new year starts.

The other photograph is another shot of the eagle/raven duo. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would get a group of shots like this. But I did. So it too fits my criteria.

So with these parting shots (pardon the pun), I join you in bidding a fond farewell to 2014 and wish you all the very best for 2015.
See you next year!!
