Movement on the shore.
The water laps gently against the edge of the thin, fragile ice occasionally taking back some of its own. The ice edges closer to the shore, encroaching on the water, freezing drops as it goes.

Water to ice? Ice to water? An uncertain exchange of state.
No matter, this is a sign of change.
